How to paint what you see

On Tuesday evening I went along to Piers Feetham Gallery, Fulham Road for the PV of an exhibition and book launch. The book is by Charles Williams RWS NEAC. It is full of down to earth, sensible advice by someone who knows what they are talking about! It is very well illustrated with photos and diagrams as well as Charles’s paintings and some well chosen artists – Paul Newland, Julie Held, David Parfitt, Anna Gardiner, Stephen Moriarty, Iain Nicholls and Kate Wilson. Very different from the usual works you see in ‘how to do it’ books.

While on the subject of books ‘Watercolour Secrets’ also has work by Paul Newland, Julie Held and Charles Williams, as well as other members of the RWS.

Both books are available from the Bankside Gallery shop.

About northoneartist

I live in London, I can see the top of the Shard from my window. I like making things and I mainly produce paintings which I exhibit and sell if the right person comes along!
