Chelsea Flower Show

Lucky me – had a last minute invitation to go to the Chelsea Flower Show on Tuesday evening. The sun came out, not too crowded – just right. Lots of grasses and hazy blues/purples/pinks with sprinkling of white amongst grey greens, yellow greens, blue greens – just gorgeous.IMG_4510IMG_4509IMG_4512 IMG_4513 IMG_4515 IMG_4516

Bury St Edmunds & Saffron Walden

A couple of days out to Suffolk/Essex in the sunshine. Visited Ickworth, near Bury St Edmunds, where the time by the church clock was nearly ten to three, but too hot for tea although there was honey.IMG_4476

My Mother

My Mother aged ninety two and a half, was in hospital for a few days last week. This was the 4th time in her life, the first 2 times were having babies ( she then had the next 2 at home).

The 3rd time was overnight for something fairly minor  and then last week.

She is at home again and sounds really good and much better. She’s just told me she was worried her brain might not be working up to speed while she was there so she wrote the story of Cinderella in French on the back of an envelope, very small.

Impressive!

New Paintings and Distressed Frames

Image

I have been getting paintings ready for mixed exhibitions and have just about finished 16 new ones. At one of the places I show my work they suggested distressing frames so that’s my new look. These frames aren’t really distressed, they’re quite happy in a sort of Boho-Chic way. Well I think they look OK but we’ll see what reaction I get.
